To avoid a $150 cancellation fee, let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you need to postpone, reschedule, or cancel your appointment.
We know things happen that are out of our control, and sometimes plans change. At Open Homes, we aim to be as flexible as possible — but we do need advance notice to ensure our photographers are fairly compensated for their time.
Rainy/overcast weather alone is not grounds for a free cancellation — with two exceptions:
- Aerial/drone shoots may need to be rescheduled in poor weather. Rain and moisture pose two problems: they create safety risks and can permanently damage a drone's electrical components. If our photographer arrives and determines conditions are unsafe or too wet, we will reschedule your aerial shoot at no cost.
- Twilight Shoots have a shorter notice window. If bad weather forces a reschedule, you only need to give us 2 hours' notice to avoid the $150 fee — rather than the standard 24 hours.
For standard photography, we shoot in all weather conditions and include blue sky replacement with every order. View some examples of blue sky replacement here!
If a third party causes the delay — such as a stager running late — consider asking them to cover the cancellation fee.
Another option is to proceed with the shoot and book a Pick-Up Shoot later for any remaining shots.
Pick-Up Shoots include up to 10 photos and come in two options:
- Scheduled — $200. Shoots take place at 10am or 3pm on your chosen date.
-
Go-Anytime — $150. Completed at any time on your requested date.
